Voters across Oxford City, Cherwell and West Oxfordshire are reminded that local elections take place this Thursday (07 May), with polling stations open from 7.00am to 10.00pm. Photo ID is required to cast a ballot.

Outdoor pools season extended and doggy swims return
The outdoor pools season at Riverside in Wallingford and Abbey Meadow in Abingdon has been extended until 07 September, giving families more time to enjoy the facilities. The season will close on 08 September with the return of Doggy Swims, where pets can take to the water before pools are closed for the winter.

Bupa’s Stratum Dermatology Clinic relocates to Origin at Wootton Science Park
Stratum Dermatology Clinic, owned by Bupa, is relocating its Oxford clinic to a 2,336 sq ft suite in Origin, the new CL2 laboratory building at Wootton Science Park. The clinic, previously at Cantay House, will open in July 2025 following a full fit-out by Total Projects.

Vale Council brings solar power to refurbished site near Wantage
A sewage treatment works near Wantage has been refurbished and upgraded with solar power by the Vale of White Horse District Council. Serving 31 properties in Sparsholt, the site received new equipment, improved access, and 22 solar panels.

Oxford residents can now apply for affordable homes in the Vale of White Horse district
An agreement between the two councils means 1,100 affordable homes in the Vale have been earmarked to help meet the city’s housing need in the next 10 years – in addition to the affordable homes specifically for Vale residents.

White Horse Leisure and Tennis Centre to get new 3G tennis courts in major revamp
Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, 05 February, to install four new 3G Artificial Turf Pitch (ATP) tennis courts to replace the current Astro tennis courts at the centre.
