The Half Moon is a delightful and quintessentially-English thatched pub in the small village of Cuxham.
In 2014, it was closed by its former brewery owners (Brakspears, a name associated with the pub for over 160 years) and the building was put up for sale.
In 2015, having been empty for many months, The Half Moon was purchased by a new enterprise, Lunar Restaurants Ltd., with the intention of both renewing the pub’s connection with the local village community and also offering a quality pizza/pasta restaurant for the whole area.
The pub and restaurant are both now open from noon, seven days a week. We offer all the charm of a friendly local pub, together with an extensive restaurant menu of pizzas, pasta and salads prepared in our kitchen. Naturally, we also have a wide variety of starters, side dishes and desserts to ensure that no-one need leave hungry!
At the rear of the pub is an extensive west-facing garden, in which customers can sit and enjoy the long summer evenings, while enjoying the food, drink and friendly atmosphere of this truly outstanding pub.
For those times when you are too busy to eat in the restaurant, or maybe need to be at home to look after the children or watch television, we also offer a takeaway service.
Naturally, we run a family-friendly and dog-friendly establishment.
