About Milton House
Milton House is an individual architect-designed home built for the present owner in 1980. Located in an enviable setting on the edge of the village with extensive south-facing grounds, it has extensive views across open countryside towards The Chilterns.
The accommodation is well balanced and is designed for easy living, with most rooms on the same level. It is also ideal for entertaining with a spacious drawing room with a high ceiling, dressed stone fireplace and glazed doors to a terrace.
Double doors from the drawing room lead to the dining room, which connects to the garden room and kitchen/breakfast with an Aga.
To the east side of the house is a wing with the principal bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe and an en-suite shower room. There are two further bedrooms and a family bathroom. A fourth bedroom is on the first floor over the kitchen.
Milton House is approached off a drive from Gold Lane. It also has “a right of way” between neighbouring properties off Church Hill. The garden and grounds are on a gentle south-facing slope with a variety of specimen trees, including oak, cherry and beech.
There is a kitchen garden on the west side behind mature hedging with two greenhouses, and the swimming pool is located below the house.
In all, the grounds extend to about 1.8 acres and may offer scope for future development.
