Families are in for a frightfully fun adventure this half term as the much-loved Billy the Bear Trail returns to Oxford’s Canalside Quarter with a spooky new twist.
Created by award-winning housebuilder The Hill Group, the free Halloween-themed trail invites visitors to explore the beautifully designed neighbourhood through an interactive, family-friendly experience.
Running from Friday 24 October to Sunday 03 November 2025, between 10.00am and 5.00pm daily, the trail transforms Canalside Quarter into a playful world of ghosts, pumpkins, and friendly frights.

Children and parents can follow Billy’s eerie footsteps around the development, scanning QR codes to unlock haunted discovery stops and enjoy Halloween-themed photo opportunities along the way. Keep an eye out for Billy the Bear himself, dressed as a wizard, witch, and spooky skeleton!
To begin the adventure, families should head to the Canalside Quarter sales suite, where the trail kicks off. There’s no need to download an app—simply use any mobile device to scan the QR codes and follow the path through the development.
At the end of the journey, every child who completes the trail will be rewarded with a spooky surprise goodie bag to celebrate their achievement.
The Billy the Bear Halloween Trail combines creativity, community spirit, and a touch of magic, offering an ideal way for families to enjoy the autumn break together. With its imaginative design and seasonal fun, it’s sure to delight both children and adults alike.
