Banbury families will soon have access to a new award-winning early childhood music programme, as Monkey Music Banbury & Bicester introduces weekly classes for babies and toddlers in the town.

Free trial sessions will open in January 2026, giving parents the opportunity to experience the benefits of early music education in a nurturing, friendly setting.

The expansion into Banbury arrives at a pivotal time, with the number of young families in the area steadily increasing and demand for high-quality early years activities on the rise.

“We’ve seen how much families in Banbury are looking for warm, engaging and developmentally rich activities indoors, especially during the colder months,” says Yulia Yudina, principal at Monkey Music Banbury & Bicester.

“Music helps little ones develop communication, motor skills and emotional confidence. Our classes give families a chance to learn, bond and meet each other.”

Monkey Music – one of the UK’s leading early childhood music programmes – was established in 1993. Its curriculum, designed with child-development specialists, blends sensory exploration, rhythm, early listening skills and social interaction.

Each age group follows its own carefully tailored programme, supporting developmental milestones from 3 months to 4 years.

Beyond nurturing early skills, the classes aim to strengthen community connections. Banbury’s growing international population, combined with the arrival of many new families each year, has increased demand for inclusive parent-child spaces.

“Parents often tell us how isolating early parenthood can feel,” adds Yulia Yudina. “Creating welcoming community spaces is essential, and we want Banbury families to feel supported and connected.”

The launch also presents new employment opportunities, with Monkey Music planning to expand its teaching team across Oxfordshire in 2026.

To mark the arrival of the programme, three Open Days will be held in early January, offering parents a first look at the classes:

  • 04 January 2026 – Lock29, Banbury – 12 noon
  • 08 January 2026 – Longford Park Community Association – 9.30am
  • 09 January 2026 – Grimsbury Community Centre, Banbury – 10.00am

With its emphasis on joyful learning, developmental enrichment and community connection, Monkey Music’s arrival in Banbury promises a warm welcome for families seeking high-quality activities for their youngest members.
