A new play park has officially opened at Wallingford’s Winterbrook Meadows development, providing a significant new outdoor space for families across the local area.
The playground was officially opened by the Mayor of Wallingford, Councillor Nigel Hughes, who cut the ribbon at a community event attended by residents, families, local representatives and members of the Berkeley team.
The new facility, delivered as part of the wider Winterbrook Meadows development by Berkeley Homes, features a basketball court, a large climbing structure, swings, slides, and open green space. Designed to cater for a range of ages, the park aims to provide a safe and welcoming environment for children to play, stay active and socialise outdoors.
Winterbrook Meadows is a growing residential neighbourhood on the edge of Wallingford, where placemaking and community infrastructure sit alongside new housing. Developers say the aim is to create not just homes, but a connected and sustainable community with shared spaces that support everyday life.

The opening follows recent improvements to Winterbrook Lane, which enhances connectivity between Winterbrook Meadows and Wallingford town centre. Together, the upgraded access route and new play park aim to strengthen integration between the development and the wider town.
