Reeds Solicitors LLP has announced the launch of a new Immigration department, expanding its national legal services offering with a dedicated focus on private immigration law.
The new practice will be led by partner Nicola Maynard and will support both individuals and businesses across the full range of immigration matters, including visa applications, deportation issues, asylum claims, appeals and immigration bail.
The team includes consultant Melissa Vangeen, who joins from BK Law LLP where she spent nearly a decade as a solicitor and Head of Immigration, and consultant Naina Ukrani, who joins from Trojan Solicitors.
The firm says the appointments strengthen its specialist expertise at a time when demand for immigration advice continues to grow.
Reeds Solicitors LLP is an award-winning national law firm recognised as a Times Best Law Firm and ranked as a Top Tier UK firm in Legal 500.
The addition of immigration services expands its existing portfolio, which includes Court of Protection, Criminal Defence, Family Law, Mental Health Law, Motoring Law, Prison Law, Regulatory work, and White Collar and Financial Crime.
Partner Nicola Maynard said the launch represents an important development for the firm, particularly given the current political and regulatory environment surrounding immigration law. She said:
“This is an exciting new chapter for the firm and I am looking forward to heading this new department. In today’s political climate, immigration law has been top of the agenda with a rapidly changing regulatory environment which leads to confusion and panic amongst businesses and individuals.
“We hope to lighten this anxiety for our clients by guiding them through the various processes available to them, be that for family reunification or for businesses looking to tap into a global talent base.”
Managing partner Jan Matthews added that the move reflects the firm’s continued growth and increasing client demand in this area. He said:
“We wish Nicola and the team the very best in this exciting launch. Stepping into immigration services is a natural progression for the firm’s continued growth so that we can continue to offer a full service to our clients.
“As immigration law continues to evolve at pace we have been noticing a higher demand for advice in this area and look forward to advising existing and new clients.”
The launch reflects a wider trend among UK law firms expanding specialist services in response to shifting regulatory pressures and growing demand for expert immigration advice from both corporate and private clients.
