Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel have released a new feature on their mobile app to help customers plan their journeys.

The Oxford Buses app now includes ‘personalised travel alerts’, which allows users to receive bespoke real-time updates on their favourite bus stops and services.

It means customers can stay informed on potential delays, accidents, or disruptions that may impact their travel plans.

By simply adding a particular bus service or bus stop to their list of favourites on the app and selecting notifications, users will receive personalised push notifications directly to their smartphones, ensuring they have the latest information at their fingertips.

Luke Marion, Managing Director of Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel, said: “We understand the importance of reliable and efficient public transportation, and we’re committed to providing our customers with the best possible experience.

“One way in which we deliver continued improvements to our customers’ experience is by constantly innovating and utilising technology. Personalised travel alerts are just one of the ways we’re working to make bus travel easier and more convenient.”

The new feature is designed to enhance the overall customer experience by helping passengers make informed decisions about their travel plans and avoid unnecessary delays by only receiving updates relevant to the journeys they want to make.

To use the personalised travel alerts feature, simply download the Oxford Buses mobile app and create an account. From there, users can easily favourite their preferred bus stops and services and start receiving notifications.
