Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties has announced its sponsorship of the Oxfordshire Young Farmers County Show, contributing £500 towards this year’s event. The show, which took place on Saturday, 17 May at Blewbury, celebrated the vibrant community spirit and agricultural heritage of Oxfordshire.

The event showcased a variety of attractions, including livestock displays, agricultural competitions, and local artisanal products. With visitors from across the county, the show provided a platform for young farmers to demonstrate their skills and passion for agriculture.

Highlights included a huge array of Young Farmer competitions, including bricklaying, flower arranging, and cocktail-making, as well as sheep shearing demonstrations, vintage tractor parades, and even a dog show

Judy Mallett, treasurer of this year’s Oxfordshire Young Farmers show, said: “We’re very grateful to Taylor Wimpey and all the other sponsors for contributing to the event.

“It was a fantastic rally with almost 5,000 people from across Oxfordshire attending in glorious sunshine. The county’s young farmers showed everyone what a talented bunch they are, and hopefully, a new generation will be inspired to support British agriculture and join Young Farmers.”

Roz Well, Sales & Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: “We are very proud to have supported this year’s Oxfordshire Young Farmers County Show, which is a fantastic celebration of rural life and community spirit.

“It was a hugely successful event, and we’re especially pleased to contribute to something so meaningful taking place close to our Valley Park development in Didcot.”

The Oxfordshire Young Farmers County Show is part of the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs – one of the largest rural youth organisations in the UK, dedicated to empowering and supporting young people in agriculture and the countryside.

Being entirely self-funded, Oxfordshire Young Farmers host this annual event to raise essential funds that help ensure the continued success and growth of the movement within the county.

The sponsorship from Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties underscores its dedication to fostering community spirit and supporting local initiatives in the areas in which it builds.
