Shoppers looking for a Father’s Day activity with a competitive twist will have the chance to test their driving skills at Templars Square Shopping Centre this weekend.
The Cowley shopping centre is hosting a free Formula 1-inspired racing simulator experience on Saturday 20 June, giving visitors the opportunity to go head-to-head with family and friends on a virtual version of the famous Silverstone circuit.
Running from 11.00am to 4.00pm near Boswell’s Café, the interactive challenge will see participants attempt to set the fastest lap time of the day, with a live leaderboard tracking the competition throughout the event.
The driver who tops the leaderboard will win a Silverstone gift experience, adding extra incentive for aspiring racing champions to put their skills to the test.
The event is free to take part in and requires no advance booking, allowing shoppers to drop in throughout the day and have a go.
Carla, Centre Manager at Templars Square Shopping Centre, said: “Father’s Day can’t all be socks and mugs, and with a big summer of sport underway, we wanted to bring some of that competitive energy into the centre. We’re really looking forward to seeing shoppers climb the leaderboard and battle it out for the Silverstone prize.”
The event forms part of Templars Square’s Father’s Day celebrations and offers a family-friendly activity for visitors of all ages.
