About Chinnor Rugby Football Club (Chinnor RFC), Thame

Chinnor Rugby Football Club (Chinnor RFC) is an English rugby union club based in Thame, Oxfordshire.

Chinnor RFC was formed in 1962 and played their first game the following year. The 1970s saw the club expand to include junior and youth teams, and in 1976 the club won the Oxfordshire Cup. The club regularly runs five senior teams as well as a full youth setup from age 5 upwards.

Senior teams

The Senior Squad is the pinnacle of rugby at Chinnor RFC Thame. The squad fields two teams; the 1st XV and the 2nd XV (known as the Falcons). The 1st XV competes in the third level of English rugby, National League 1 and the Falcons play competitive friendlies against high-level opponents.

Established in 2020, the Chinnor Kites is a competitive and friendly women’s team. Made up of players of all different experience levels, the Kites actively welcome new players of all ages and abilities. Whether you are picking up a rugby ball for the first time or returning to the sport – you’ll be welcomed with a smile!

The Wildboys is the 3rd senior team at Chinnor RFC. New players are always welcome, and whether you have played before or are looking to try something new, your participation is encouraged.

As the squad for the Wildboys continues to grow, the club has re-introduced the Outlaws name, and the former 4th team has been rebranded as the Outlaws. Along with the Wildboys, the Outlaws train on Tuesdays at 7.00pm at Kingsey Road, Thame.

However, the club asks that they provide the bar.
