The unmissable 2021 festivals in Oxfordshire
There is nothing like a full weekend of sunshine and music, and summer festivals have always given us all something to look forward to. So with the PM laying out a four-step plan for easing restrictions by mid-summer, you cannot imagine the excitement when we discovered that many of our favourite festivals are set to go ahead this summer. We couldn't wait, so we started putting together our picks for the unmissable festivals in Oxfordshire in 2021. And you know what, it seems there's pretty much an event near you, wherever you are in the county.

17 to 20 June (Cancelled)
Festival lineup includes: David Gray, Simple Minds, Lionel Richie, UB40 feat. Ali & Astro
Nocturne Live turns The Great Court at Blenheim Palace into a grand arena with world-class acts and 7,000 seats. It can be an all-day affair with VIP dining in the famous State Rooms, a stroll in the palace’s vast grounds, or a waterside picnic. It can also be an evening gig for those who just want to hear their favourite live music.
29 June to 04 July (To be rescheduled)
Henley Royal Regatta is undoubtedly one of the best-known regattas in the world; and a highlight of both the summer sporting calendar and the English social season. Spectators are thrilled by over 200 races of an international standard which can include Olympic rowers, as well as crews new to the event. And not to forget the range of exceptional food and wine on offer.
PLEASE NOTE: The 2021 Regatta will not be held from 29 June to 04 July at Henley-on-Thames as planned. Instead, the organisers intend stage the event from Wednesday 11 to Sunday 15 August 2021, should conditions allow, or if not, a Regatta at Dorney Lake at dates in August to be determined.
The Summer Jaguar Festival will now take place as a one-day event within the atmospheric surroundings of Bicester Heritage on 04 July 2021 and will celebrate 60 years of the iconic E-type, plus the anniversaries of the Mark 10, X-Type, XK8 and X150 as well as Jaguar’s first victory at Le Mans.
The festival was planned to take place over the weekend of 14 to 16 May 2021 at Heythrop Park Hotel and Blenheim Palace.
07 to 11 July

Henley Festival 2021 is an exclusive boutique black-tie festival that takes place over five days, celebrating the best of the UK and International music and arts. The festival is a truly unique event. It embraces a vibrant programme from pop to world music, classical to jazz where art and gastronomy share equal billing with music.

The Cornbury Music Festival is one-of-a-kind, lovingly crafted, top notch, very English open air party, tailor-made for the whole family. Like the best of England, The Cornbury Music Festival is civilised, charming and irresistible, and takes place on the beautiful Great Tew Park Estate in the heart of the Cotswolds.

Hill Farm, Steventon

Truck Festival 2021 will take place in the idyllic Oxfordshire countryside from 23 to 25 July. Often described as the Godfather of the small music festivals, the Truck Festival has been featuring some of the biggest and best emerging artists since 1998. The festival takes place at Hill Farm in Steventon, and it is widely regarded as one of the unmissable 2021 festivals in Oxfordshire.
05 to 08 August

Wilderness festival is the multi-award winning 4-day festival combining live music, contemporary arts and an array of theatre, artisanship, late-night parties, outdoor pursuits and culinary experiences. It's one festival where genres are redefined, identity is turned on its head, and arts from across the spectrum sit side by side.
12 to 14 August
Festival lineup includes: The Trevor Horn Band, Fairport Convention Acoustic, Steve Hackett - Genesis Revisited, Fairport Convention & Friends (inc Full House)
There is cautious optimism that the Fairport Cropredy Convention 2021 will be staged, as planned, over the weekend of 12 to 14 August 2021. The annual festival of folk and rock music, headed by British folk-rock band Fairport Convention is held on the edge of the village of Cropredy in Oxfordshire.
12 to 21 August
Waterperry Gardens, Near Wheatley, Oxfordshire
Following the sell-out success of the 2020 mini-festival, Waterperry Opera Festival will return with an ambitious ten-day open-air Covid-safe festival in August 2021. This year’s programme will include seven productions as well as workshops, masterclasses, talks, and pop-up performances that will take advantage of Waterperry’s extensive historic grounds.
13 to 15 August
Festival lineup includes: Razorlight, Gabrielle, Scouting for Girls, Squeeze, Soul 2 Soul
The new addition to the CarFest family takes place at Bicester Heritage from 13 to 15 August. Going to take you back to simpler times – when cars were cooler, plus music from living music legends to some of the best tribute bands, a roller disco, a vinyl fair and all things collectable from toys and games to gadgets and gizmos.
20 to 22 August
Blenheim Palace Food Festival offers cookery demonstrations, talks, drinks tasting, beer and wine pairings, and the opportunity to taste and buy gifts from 130 regional food producers and drink experts, including artisan bakers, craft brewers, gourmet burgers, international cuisine, traditional ice creams, and handmade sweets, and to meet celebrated chefs.
20 to 22 August
Festival lineup includes: Queen, Wet Wet Wet, Jimmy Somerville’s Big Band-Tastic Boogie, Billy Ocean, Bananarama, Soul II Soul and more!
Rewind Festival South is probably the biggest 80’s music festival in the world. It is a spectacular event, packed full of fun, laughter, great (and terrible!) costumes and friends. All your favourite 80s icons will be at Rewind Festival 2021, so get your tickets now and join the biggest party of the summer. This really is one of the 2021 festivals in Oxfordshire you can’t afford to miss.
27 to 29 August
Festival lineup includes: DJ/Producer Sigala, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Rag’n’Bone Man, All Saints, and more
The Big Feastival 2021 is a family-friendly music and food festival taking place on Alex James' Farm near Kingham in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds over three days from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 August 2021 (the August bank holiday weekend) for its special 10th edition. The Big Feastival is for everyone, big and small. Expect a top drawer selection of live music acts, some of the country's top chefs, and plenty of hands-on activities for both big and little ones.
28 to 30 August
South Park, Oxford
Festival lineup includes: Sophie Ellis-Bexter, Scouting For Girls & Toploader, and emerging bands and soloists.
This mouth-watering summer festival returns to Oxford's South Park with live music from chart-topping headliners, workshops and masterclasses featuring MasterChef Champions, Michelin star and top local chefs cooking their signature summer recipes, Bake Off winners and top bakers in The Cake & Desserts Theatre, new wines, champagnes and cocktails to sample in The Drinks Theatre, and Kids Zone with Kids Cookery Theatre.
03 to 05 September

Organisers of the unique free family festival BunkFest have made known their intention to hold BunkFest 2021 this year, as planned, from 03 to 05 September 2021, provided Government guidelines allow them to put on a full festival. Details of this small but growing end of summer folk festival will be published here when it becomes available.
