Local residents and businesses across Oxfordshire are being encouraged to lace up their walking boots this February and take part in a 21-mile charity walk in support of the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

The fundraising event forms part of National Heart Month and will take place on Saturday 28 February 2026, raising vital funds for research into heart and circulatory diseases.

Organisers are hoping the walk will bring together individuals, families and colleagues from across the county to enjoy Oxfordshire’s scenery while supporting a lifesaving cause.

Designed to be suitable for all ages and abilities, the 21-mile circular route will begin and end at New College in Oxford city centre. Walkers will follow a scenic trail through the county, taking in some of Oxfordshire’s most recognisable landmarks along the way.

A highlight of the route is a midway stop at the iconic grounds of Blenheim Palace, where participants will have the opportunity to pause for lunch.

For the second consecutive year, Blenheim Palace has kindly agreed to grant free access to its grounds for those taking part in the charity walk, helping to make the event as inclusive and accessible as possible.

There is a £25 registration fee per person, with all participants receiving a ‘goody bag’ that includes a British Heart Foundation t-shirt. Funds raised will go directly towards supporting the BHF’s work in tackling heart and circulatory diseases, which currently affect more than seven million people across the UK.

The event is being organised by the Heart of Oxford Business Board, part of a growing network of British Heart Foundation Boards nationwide that bring together businesses and communities to raise funds and awareness.

Jo Stevens, Chair of the Heart of Oxford Business Board, said: “More than seven million people in the UK are living with heart and circulatory diseases, so supporting lifesaving research is vital.

“After raising over £4,400 last year, we’re delighted to bring the Heart of Oxford Walk back for 2026. It’s a fantastic way to get active, and we’re encouraging individuals, families and colleagues to sign up for the challenge, raise money and help save lives.”

The British Heart Foundation currently invests more than £95 million into lifesaving research across 83 projects in Oxfordshire alone, supporting advances ranging from regenerative medicine to cutting-edge medical technologies.
