Families across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire will be able to take part in Easter adventures at several National Trust properties this spring, with themed outdoor trails running through the school holidays and Easter bank holiday weekend.

The Easter events have been designed for children up to the age of 12 and feature 10 interactive activity points at each location, combining games, challenges and seasonal activities in gardens filled with spring flowers, blossom and bunting.

Each trail costs £3.50 per child plus normal admission, while entry remains free for National Trust members.

Every trail includes:

  • bunny ears
  • a trail sheet
  • a take-home activity card
  • a chocolate egg or vegan free-from chocolate egg made in the UK using Rainforest Alliance certified cocoa

The chocolate alternative is suitable for those with milk, egg, gluten, peanut and tree nut allergies.

Participating properties include Cliveden, Stowe Gardens, Hughenden, Greys Court, Basildon Park, Waddesdon Manor, Claydon House and Ascott House.

Dates vary by venue, but all trails take place during the Easter holidays and over the Easter bank holiday weekend from 03 to 06 April.

Each location offers a different themed experience:

  • Cliveden (28 March – 12 April): families will search the gardens for runaway eggs while completing games and activities.
  • Hughenden (21 March – 13 April): a similar egg hunt takes visitors around the gardens.
  • Stowe Gardens (28 March – 12 April): includes Pictionary, music activities and photo points.
  • Basildon Park (21 March – 25 March, reopening 03 – 12 April): garden-based egg hunt activities.
  • Greys Court (21 March – 12 April): sheep-themed games inspired by nearby lambs, including sheep Guess Who, hook with a crook and basketball.
  • Waddesdon (28 March – 06 April): ten activity stations from the manor to the stables.
  • Claydon (03 – 06 April): giant Jenga, Connect 4, croquet, limbo and egg-and-spoon races.
  • Ascott (28 March – 12 April): garden exploration through themed pathways and display features.

The charity is also introducing an Easter membership offer, with new junior or family memberships purchased between 21 March and 19 April qualifying for a voucher for unlimited Easter trails for named children, subject to availability.

Families are advised to check individual property pages before visiting, as event details may change.
