Premium eyewear retailer David Clulow has opened its newly redesigned store at Westgate Oxford, marking a significant investment in the city’s retail and healthcare landscape and reinforcing the brand’s commitment to luxury eye care on the high street.
Opened on Friday 26 June, the refreshed store introduces a modern, experience-led optical concept designed to blend advanced clinical eye care with high-end eyewear retail. The move reflects a broader shift in consumer demand towards more personalised, technology-enabled health and lifestyle services.

The new Oxford location features upgraded clinical facilities, including state-of-the-art eye testing rooms and enhanced consultation spaces, alongside access to the latest lens innovations, designer eyewear collections, and emerging smart eyewear technology.
Customers will also find a curated selection of luxury brands, including Prada and Oliver Peoples, as part of David Clulow’s wider portfolio of globally recognised designer eyewear labels.
Clare Martin, Centre Director at Westgate Oxford, said the store strengthens the destination’s positioning as a hub for innovative retail experiences.

“David Clulow’s impressive new flagship store is a fantastic addition to our retail offering, demonstrating that Westgate Oxford continues to be the destination of choice for brands looking to bring innovative, experience-first retail to the city,” she said.
Oliver Manson, Store Manager at David Clulow Oxford, said the investment reflects both rising customer expectations and Oxford’s reputation for innovation and quality.
“Oxford is a city renowned for innovation, culture and quality, making it a natural home for David Clulow’s latest store concept,” he said. “This refurbishment represents a significant investment in both our customers and the local community.”

He added that customers increasingly expect more than a standard eye test, with demand growing for expert clinical care, tailored advice, and access to the latest developments in eyewear technology.
The Westgate Oxford store will continue to offer a full range of optical services, including premium eye tests, contact lens consultations, and specialist eyewear advice, all delivered within a contemporary retail environment.
The opening forms part of wider investment momentum at Westgate Oxford as it continues to attract international brands and experience-led retail concepts to the city centre.
