Standard entries for the 2027 Oxford Half sold out in just four hours on Sunday 11 October, setting a new record for demand for the annual road race and leaving charity places and a limited number of premium tickets as the remaining options for runners.

The sell-out came shortly after participants completed this year’s half marathon, which attracted thousands of runners to Oxford. According to the organisers, it marks the fourth consecutive year in which standard entries have sold out faster than the previous edition.

Tickets for the 2026 race sold out in approximately three weeks. The latest result represents a sharp acceleration in demand, with the entire standard allocation for next year’s event taken within the same afternoon.

The organisers said places for the new Cambridge–Oxford: The Half Marathon Challenge also sold out on 11 October. The challenge links the Cambridge Half Marathon on Sunday 14 March 2027 with the Oxford Half on Sunday 10 October 2027, inviting runners to complete both events in the same year.

Participants who take on the challenge will receive a training T-shirt, a race bib and two medals designed to fit together as a single memento of completing both half marathons.

Despite the standard-entry sell-out, runners can still seek a place through the event’s charity partners. The organisers reported that this year’s Oxford Half raised more than £1.6 million for over 180 charities, with an increased allocation of charity places available for the 2027 race.

Alzheimer’s Society is the headline charity partner, alongside 22 other national and local charities offering places. Runners will generally need to meet the relevant fundraising requirements set by their chosen organisation.

A limited number of premium tickets also remain available. These include indoor hospitality and toilet facilities before and after the race, exclusive merchandise, a personalised race bib and medal insert, a private bag-drop facility, and complimentary food and drink.

The 2027 Oxford Half is scheduled for Sunday 10 October. With standard entries already sold out almost a year in advance, charity places and premium tickets provide the remaining routes for those hoping to take part.
