Visitors heading to the Harcourt Arboretum Autumn Fair on Saturday 24 October will be able to use a free shuttle bus from Redbridge Park & Ride, with seasonal activities, traditional crafts and woodland walks among the attractions.
Oxford Bus Company will operate the shuttle throughout the day, providing a direct connection to the arboretum at Nuneham Courtenay. The journey takes approximately 15 minutes, with passengers dropped off outside the entrance.
The fair runs from 10.00am to 4.00pm, with last entry at 3.00pm. Activities include working horse demonstrations, interactive theatre performances, botanical printing and traditional crafts such as spinning, weaving and natural dyeing.
Visitors can also explore woodland trails, listen to live music, take part in nature poetry and browse local artisan stalls, alongside seasonal food.
The event coincides with the arboretum’s autumn colours, with the Acer Glade expected to provide displays of red, orange and gold foliage.
Luke Marion, managing director of Oxford Bus Company, said the free shuttle would allow visitors to travel from Redbridge Park & Ride to the attraction without needing to drive directly to the site.
Alternative public transport
Visitors can also reach Nuneham Courtenay on the River Rapids X40 bus, which operates every 30 minutes between Oxford city centre and Reading. The stop is a short walk from the arboretum.
In Oxford, the service stops near the Westgate Centre and St Aldates police station. Along the route, it also serves Berinsfield, Shillingford, Benson, Crowmarsh Gifford, Wallingford, Woodcote, Chazey Heath and Caversham.
Heidi El-Megrisi, head of operations at Oxford Botanic Garden and Arboretum, said the fair offered an opportunity for visitors of all ages to experience the arboretum during the autumn season.
