About Revision On Tour: Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde

Calling all English students, teachers, and admirers of classic literature! Dickens Theatre Company’s acclaimed stage adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Gothic masterpiece returns to Aylesbury Waterside Theatre in April 2026.

London, 1888. A dense Fitzrovia fog smothers the city. In the murky streets, a sinister figure prowls. A young child is brutally attacked. But who is this “sneering Satan”—and will he strike again?

With a talented ensemble of just six actors, this fast-paced and inventive production brings Stevenson’s chilling novella to life, capturing the dark heart of Victorian London while delivering a gripping, atmospheric experience for audiences and GCSE students alike.

This gripping adaptation is part of DTC’s Revision on Tour, touring alongside Macbeth. Tailored to support GCSE study, the production highlights key characters, quotes, and themes, making it ideal for students and compelling for literature fans alike.

Post-matinee Q&A with the cast and director available on request.

Reviews

“At last! DTC has finally given GCSE students the stage adaptation of J&H we have all been crying out for. The characters, the key quotes, Stevenson’s London…leapt from the page. The kids loved it.”

Ben Jefferies, Westcliff High School for Boys
