Milton Park has expanded the retail offer at Signal Yard with the arrival of Bros Barbers, the ninth company to join the growing commercial and social destination.
The independent barber has taken the ground floor retail unit at 9a Park Square, adding 922 square feet of space to the development’s mix of health, wellbeing and food businesses.
Founded by brothers Ali Ahmedov and Asen Ahmedov, the business brings an established local success story to the site.
Ali moved to Oxfordshire from Bulgaria in 2016 and initially worked in professional kitchens while learning English before retraining as a barber through an apprenticeship in Didcot.
After building experience and a customer base, he opened his first premises at The Orchard Centre in 2021.
The new Signal Yard branch offers services including skin fades, traditional wet shaves and personalised grooming.

Ali Ahmedov said: “Opening at Signal Yard is a very proud moment for my family and me. When I first came to Oxfordshire, I didn’t speak the language, and I was just focused on working hard and building a better future. To now be opening our business in such a vibrant new destination means everything.
“Signal Yard feels like the right place for us because it’s built around community. There are thousands of people working at Milton Park, and we want to offer them a high-quality, reliable service right on their doorstep – somewhere they can step out during the day or after work, relax, and feel looked after.
“For local people too, we want Bros Barbers to be more than just a place for a haircut. It’s about trust, comfort and building long-term relationships. Being part of this growing hub alongside other independent businesses gives us confidence for the future. It shows how far my brother and I have come, and it motivates us to keep improving and giving our best every day.”
Mocky Khan said: “Ali Ahmedov’s story is an inspiration and a powerful example of what can be achieved through talent, resilience and determination. Bros Barbers is a fantastic addition to Signal Yard and underlines the development’s commitment to helping local businesses thrive.”
Clare Fleet said: “We’re delighted to welcome Bros Barbers as our ninth retailer at Signal Yard. Independent operators are central to the character and long-term success of the scheme, and Ali and Asen’s entrepreneurial journey embodies the community-focused spirit we’re cultivating here.”
Other businesses already operating at Signal Yard include Apollo Pharmacy, Flex Health Hub, Damira Dental and Milton Post Office.
Food operators include 1885 Burgers, Planted Plates and Chor Muang Thai.
Signal Yard will also welcome Tap Social Movement through its new venue Day Release.
Bros Barbers is now open, with weekday hours from 9.00am to 7.00pm.
