Local housebuilder Croudace Homes recently delivered a presentation on site safety at Sires Hill Primary Academy, which forms part of its Willowbrook Park development at Kilburn Place in Didcot.
The presentation was showcased to 45 Reception and Year 1 pupils, delving into construction sites and how to stay safe on site, highlighting the importance of building site safety.
The housebuilder also sponsored the installation of three welly storage units in contribution to an outdoor classroom for the students of Sires Hill Primary Academy, ensuring they have easy access to suitable footwear for all activities.
Stuart Elvidge, Sales and Marketing Director for Croudace North Thames at Croudace Homes, commented: “It was a pleasure to organise the presentation for students at Sires Hill Primary Academy. This was a great opportunity for us to teach the pupils about construction safety, especially in a growing community like Willowbrook Park.
“At Croudace, we’re committed to fostering safe and enriching environments for our local families, and we hope our presentation and sponsorship to the school demonstrates that.”

Kyla Butterworth, Vice Principal of Sires Hill Primary School, added: “We are so grateful to Croudace for their thoughtful presentation and donation. It’s really important to teach pupils about safety in fun and memorable ways, as it helps reinforce significant lessons, particularly with many of the children living at Willowbrook Park itself. The new welly storages will also be a very valuable addition to our outdoor learning programme!”
Willowbrook Park is a growing community, offering one, two-, three, four- and five-bedroom houses as well as apartments. Outside of the properties are parking spaces, garages and car ports. The neighbourhood also includes a park with areas for sports and has local wildlife in mind, with certain areas sown with a mix of grass seed and wildflowers in addition to bat and bird boxes.
Local amenities are just a short walk away from residents’ doorsteps, including Boots, Co-op and Ladygrove Dental Practice. Close by and only a mile away is a main shopping street, Broadway, Didcot town Centre, as well as The Orchard Centre, which hosts a number of popular retail brands, cafes and restaurants. A farmer’s market also opens once a month, offering multiple events during the year.
Alongside Sires Hill Primary Academy, the area surrounding the development has a selection of high-performing nursery, primary and secondary schools, including Ladygrove Park Primary School, Didcot Girls’ School and the University of Reading.
