First-time buyers, Davide Surdi (33), a Senior Brand Manager, and Federica Calza (34), a Quality Assurance Manager, are Valley Park’s first residents, having moved into their new Taylor Wimpey home in April 2025.
The couple had been renting a flat in Bracknell and wanted to get onto the property ladder. When asked why they chose a new-build home as their first home rather than a pre-owned one, Davide said: “We wanted a new-build because of the assurance of quality materials used, there’s less maintenance needed, and they have a more modern style.”
“We were looking for a place with good transport connections and a close link to the main motorways to commute to work. We also wanted to live in an area with lots of space and green scenery, as we love spending time trekking and cycling.”
After exploring other housebuilders in the area, Davide and Federica decided on Taylor Wimpey. Federica said: “Taylor Wimpey’s Valley Park was the perfect choice because of its combination of style, quality, price, location, and the friendly approach by the sales team.”

“We were looking for a three-bedroom property with a large garden to spend time outside. For that reason, we decided to choose the Eynsford house type as it was the perfect combination for style, space and location.”
When asked about the sales process, Davide said: “We were concerned at the beginning, as purchasing our first home was a big step for us. However, everything moved incredibly fast and the sales team were very supportive. We were advised at every step, and the customer experience was amazing.
“We were given a handbook that described every step in the purchasing timeline, which made the whole process much clearer. Not only that, but we were also able to monitor the process on the Taylor Wimpey website, which was exciting and helped us to plan the move adequately.”
Now that they’ve settled in, Federica shared their favourite things about their new home and the local area: “We love our garden, it’s a brilliant space to spend time together and relax after a full day of work. The development is beautiful and even beyond our expectations.
The area is lovely, and the transportation connections are great; supermarkets are even closer than they were at our previous home. Didcot is also conveniently closer to Oxford, so that we can explore more restaurants and other local amenities.
“Taylor Wimpey made this process as easy as possible, and the sales team made us enjoy the journey of becoming homeowners.”
