The Thursday Organ Recital Series resumes for live in-person audiences, with a recital given next Thursday, 20 May, by Rachel Mahon, Director of Music at Coventry Cathedral.

Rachel will play a programme including works by the Canadian organists and composers Gerald Bales and Rachel Laurin, as well as the music of JS Bach and Dietrich Buxtehude.

The recitals take place in the Chapel at 1.15pm each Thursday during term-time and are simultaneously streamed live via the Merton College Choir YouTube page.

Upcoming recitalists include:

  • Martin Baker, past President of the Royal College of Organists, and former Master of Music at Westminster Cathedral – 27 May
  • Dónal McCann, Assistant Organist at New College, Oxford – 3 June
  • Carleton Etherington, Organist and Director of Music at Tewkesbury Abbey – 10 June
  • Benjamin Nicholas, Director of Music at Merton College – 17 June

All the recitals are free to attend, everyone is welcome, and places can be booked online.
