Nocturne Live 2021 - Simple Minds and Deacon Blue Rescheduled date announced
Simple Minds performance at Nocturne Live will now take place on Friday 18 June 2021, along with special guests Deacon Blue.

Simple Minds performance at Nocturne Live 2021 will now take place on Friday 18 June 2021. And special guests, Deacon Blue, will still be performing at this rescheduled date.

One of the most successful and iconic UK bands of all time, the 60 million-selling, international chart-toppers Simple Minds are the latest act lined up to headline the Nocturne Live concert series. Fronted by founder members Jim Kerr (vocals) and Charlie Burchill (guitar), the band are currently celebrating 40 years in music. They will perform a greatest hits set at Blenheim Palace, featuring a selection of their best-known songs including, ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me)’, ‘Alive And Kicking’ and ‘Sanctify Yourself’.

Support will come from fellow Scottish pop-rock band Deacon Blue, who enjoyed widespread success throughout the 1980s and ‘90s selling over 7 million albums and notching up fourteen UK Top 40 singles and two UK number one albums along the way. They’ll perform a career-spanning set including music from their soon-to-be-released new studio album ‘City Of Love’.

We Are Caezar was formed by two former members of cult Scottish band The Silencers, best known for their hit ‘Painted Moon’, We Are Caezar complete a unique Scottish triple bill heading to the Great Court next summer.

Simple Minds’ Jim Kerr: “You’ll hear all the classics and all the big songs. And for the hardcore, we’ll be playing some songs that we haven’t played for a while. Simple Minds are different now. We’re not a stock rock band, but we haven’t changed our line-up to be cool. We’ve done it because it’s great to have so many amazing players on board. I’m grateful for the career we’ve had, but I’m mad enough to think we can still hit new levels. This is what we do –write, record and play live.”

Nocturne Live is a weekend music festival that sees The Great Court at Blenheim Palace turned into a grand arena with world-class acts. It can be an all-day affair with VIP dining in the famous State Rooms, a stroll in the palace’s vast grounds, or a waterside picnic. It can also be an evening gig for those who just want to hear their favourite live music.

Nocturne Live combines uniquely curated concerts set against the stunning backdrop of Blenheim Palace’s iconic Great Court. Also headlining at next summer’s Nocturne Live are UB40 feat. Ali & Astro, and David Gray celebrating 20 years of ‘White Ladder’. Joining them across this series of one-off concerts are Deacon Blue, Jimmy Cliff, James Morrison and more.
