Oxford Bus Company launches exclusive discounts to app users this summer.

Bus users in Oxfordshire are being encouraged to take advantage of exclusive discounts to some of the county’s top attractions this summer by paying for tickets using their mobiles.

Oxford Bus Company has teamed up with destinations including Carfax Tower, The Story Museum and Didcot Railway Centre to provide customers using its mobile app with special rates through the holidays and beyond.

The offers extend to cafes, restaurants, experiences and luxury cosmetic products, with bus users unlocking discounts by presenting either a valid or recently expired mobile bus ticket via the app to partner businesses.

All ticket purchases on the Oxford Bus mobile app qualify, including routes operating under the Government’s £2 bus fare cap scheme.

Luke Marion, Managing Director of Oxford Bus Company, said the move will benefit bus users and local businesses alike.

“We’re truly fortunate to be part of such a diverse county with world-famous tourist destinations, independent businesses and local attractions to offer something for everyone,” said Mr Marion.

“Exclusive offers available to users of our mobile app will not only unlock outstanding value for people looking for days out this summer but also enable us to support local independent businesses.

“We’re pleased to partner with such a wide selection of organisations and encourage other operators interested in featuring to get in touch with our team. Thousands of people use our services each day; this is another way in which we can link them to what Oxfordshire has to offer.”

Participating businesses and tourist destinations where bus users are eligible for a discount include Jacobs & Field, Bygone Boating, Sunnyhill Vineyard, Didcot Railway Centre, Coco Noir, Cornfield Bakery, George & Davis, George & Delila, Oxford Town Hall Café, Bean & Brew, Gravitee Adventure Golf, Colombia Coffee Roasters and Oxford Soap Co.

In addition to facilitating fast and smooth ticket payments, Oxford Bus Company’s app also provides live departure boards, service updates and the latest timetables.

“Our app is designed to make bus travel easier for all passengers,” said Luke. “The technology helps customers plan routes to their destination, find the nearest bus stops to where they’re located and source the latest travel information in real-time.

“We’d encourage users of all our services to take advantage of it and make the most of the latest offers in partnership with Oxfordshire’s businesses.”

The Oxford Bus Company app can be downloaded via the Apple App Store and Google Play for free and is compatible with all smartphone devices.
