Today sees the launch of the Oxfordshire Business Awards 2020. For 26 years the Oxfordshire Business Awards (OXBA) has been recognising, rewarding and promoting the excellence of Oxfordshire-based companies. Following the launch today at 6pm at the Sadler Building in The Oxford Science Park, entries will be open in the following 13 award categories:

The Bicester Village Retail Award

This Award is open to any independent retail business regardless of size with stand-out qualities (business performance, vision, strategy, etc) that makes the business worthy of recognition.

The BRITA Green Award

This category is open to any organisation, irrespective of size or industry sector with practices that promote and support the protection and/or improvement of the environment embedded within their business.

The CIS Technology Excellence Award

This award identifies and recognises an organisation’s focus on advancing their business through the use of Information Technology irrespective of size or complexity.

The Hays Employer of the Year Award

This award is for organisations with new and innovative working practices (staff development, diversity, flexibility, leadership, facilities, etc.) that make them an excellent employer.

The Heart Best Visitor Experience Award

This award category is open to any organisation involved in the tourism, events, leisure and accommodation sectors in Oxfordshire that can demonstrate growth & success in achieving their objectives.

The NatWest Large Business Award

This award is open to any business based in Oxfordshire with a turnover of more than £7.5million that has proven success and achievement during the past 12 months and future business growth potential including a commitment to the local community.

The Oxford Science Park Innovation Award

This Award is open to any organisation irrespective of size or sector, including both start-ups and established businesses with evidence of the development and/or introduction of an innovative product, process, service or business method within the last three years.

The Oxfordshire LEP New Business Award

This Award is open to any business that started trading after the 1 January 2016 with a good understanding of the market in which they operate and a strong vision and strategy for future development.

The Ridge and Partners LLP Business of the Year Award

The winner of this most prestigious award will be the business most able to demonstrate all-round achievement, a clear vision for the future, success against objectives and sustained growth.

The Royds Withy King Small Business Award

This award is open to any business based in Oxfordshire with a turnover of less than £7.5million able to demonstrate they have the ‘stand-out’ quality that differentiates their business from the rest.

The Shaw Gibbs Young Business Person of the Year Award

This award is open to a person under 40 years of age on 1 January 2020 who has worked in business for a minimum of three years. Entries must be endorsed by a business colleague, partner, or client.

The Shaw Gibbs Business Person of the Year Award

This Award is open to a person over 40 years of age on 1 January 2020 who has worked in business for a minimum of five years. Entries must be endorsed by a business colleague, partner, or client.

The Syndicut Marketing Excellence Award

Regardless of size, sector or industry, this award is about celebrating individuals, businesses and agencies in Oxfordshire for marketing campaigns, digital solutions and social media strategies that make a real difference to business.

The Charity and Community Award

This award is open to any organisation, irrespective of business size, with convincing evidence of fulfiling charitable aims or of making a positive impact on local disadvantaged groups.

The 25th Oxfordshire Business Awards Dinner took place at the John Henry Brookes Building at Oxford Brookes University on Friday 14 June 2019 and was attended by 500 business individuals.

Some winners at the event included Oxford Biomedica (The Oxford Science Park Innovation Award), Nicholsons (The NatWest Large Business Award), and Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens (The Heart Best Visitor Experience Award).
