Salon Privé reveals first of its highly anticipated entries for 2025 concours at Blenheim Palace

Salon Privé, the UK’s most prestigious luxury automotive event, has revealed the first headline entries for its landmark 20th Anniversary Concours, taking place at Blenheim Palace on Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 August 2025.

Blending world-class motoring with the elegance of a classic English garden party, Salon Privé spans five days, celebrating its 20th year as a highlight of the summer social season.

The event commences with the Salon Privé Concours by Aviva Private Clients, followed by Ladies’ Day presented by Boodles, with Salon Privé Supercar Saturday and the newly introduced Supercar Sunday rounding off the weekend.

Two exciting new additions – the Rally Tour and the GT Tour – promise even more for automotive fans. Running from 27 to 31 August, this celebration of automotive excellence, style, and heritage is an unmissable occasion for collectors, enthusiasts, and lovers of cars and luxury alike.

The Concours d’Elégance will showcase a dazzling array of exceptional privately-owned classics, judged by an international panel of experts.

Among the first announced entries is an ultra-rare Duesenberg Model SJ, a 1932 American masterpiece famed for its glamour and performance. With its supercharged engine producing 320 horsepower, it was one of the fastest and most powerful cars of its era.

Just 36 units were ever made, and this particular model—recently seen at Pebble Beach in August 2024 after nearly 50 years out of public view—is making the journey from the US to Blenheim Palace. A favourite of celebrities and industrialists alike, the car’s legacy is matched only by its elegance.

Also confirmed is a striking 1958 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster, originally registered to iconic German actress Romy Schneider. Still sporting its original red interior, this rare roadster arrives from Germany fresh from a class win at the 2024 Lugano Elegance.

Joining them is the 1964 Alpine M64, a French endurance racing prototype built specifically for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. One of just three constructed, this is the most successful of the trio—securing class wins at both Le Mans and Reims in 1964.

With a 1049cc Renault Gordini engine and a design inspired by the Lotus 23, it achieved a remarkable 101 mph average speed over 24 hours and won the prestigious Index of Thermal Efficiency.

After returning to Le Mans in 2022 following a 57-year absence, the Alpine will appear at Salon Privé for the first time in the UK, retaining its originality save for a repaint and new driver’s seat cover.

Andrew Bagley, Chairman of the Salon Privé Concours, said:

“The calibre of the Concours entries is higher than ever, giving this year’s guests a glimpse of what’s to come. Our 20th Anniversary Concours will rightly contain some of the finest and rarest motor cars from around the world!”

With its unparalleled setting, glamorous atmosphere, and unmatched collection of vehicles, Salon Privé’s 20th Anniversary is set to be one of the most memorable yet.
