Families visiting Oxford this summer can discover the city’s museums, landmarks and cultural attractions through the biggest edition yet of the City Sightseeing Oxford Passport Trail.
Running until 30 September, the trail has been expanded to include six of Oxford’s best-known attractions, encouraging children to collect stamps, complete activities and explore the city using the operator’s hop-on, hop-off sightseeing buses.
Building on the success of last year’s initiative, this year’s Passport Trail includes:
- Carfax Tower
- Ashmolean Museum
- Modern Art Oxford
- Oxford University Museum of Natural History
- Pitt Rivers Museum
- The Story Museum
Designed primarily for children aged two to eight, the trail is included free with a City Sightseeing Oxford ticket.
Families can collect passports from the company’s Visitor Information Point on the High Street, Gloucester Green travel shop, Carfax Tower, ticket sellers on Broad Street or at Oxford railway station.
The Passport Trail is integrated into the sightseeing bus route, allowing visitors to hop on and off while exploring the participating attractions across the city.
Luke Marion, Managing Director of City Sightseeing Oxford, said the initiative continues to grow thanks to collaboration with some of Oxford’s leading visitor destinations.

“Free for anyone with a City Sightseeing Oxford ticket, the Passport Trail will allow families to explore Oxford together and create lasting memories.
“Rain or shine, it’s one of the best activities families can do together in Oxford this summer.”
Participants who collect stamps from at least four locations can return to the Visitor Information Point, Gloucester Green travel shop or Carfax Tower to receive a commemorative Passport Trail certificate.
As an added incentive, visitors presenting a stamped passport at the Pitt Rivers Museum shop can receive 10 per cent off purchases, subject to the museum’s terms and conditions.
Alongside the trail, City Sightseeing Oxford has introduced a limited-time discounted family ticket costing £49 for up to two adults and three children, reduced from the usual £57. The ticket includes 24 hours of unlimited travel on the sightseeing buses as well as access to the Passport Trail.
The initiative offers families an engaging way to explore Oxford’s museums, historic landmarks and cultural attractions during the summer holidays, combining sightseeing with interactive activities designed for younger visitors.
