The Gym Group – a leading provider of low cost, no contract, 24/7 gym facilities with over 200 clubs across the UK – has opened a new training space in Oxford Headington.

The new gym is located at Headington Retail Park, next to Aldi and Homebase, has opened just in time for those looking to set personal fitness goals for the new year.

The gym is the second training space from The Gym Group to open in the city, and it cost more than £1 million to create.

It will offer members more than 100 pieces of high-spec training equipment over 12,000 square feet, including plate-loaded strength equipment, a large free weights area, Olympic lifting platforms, functional training spaces and cardio machines.

Highly- skilled and experienced personal trainers will also be on hand to help gym users achieve their fitness goals, whatever they may be. Members will benefit from a range of unlimited free gym classes such as HIIT or circuits, perfect for both beginner and advanced gym-goers.

The Oxford Headington gym also offers free parking to members.

The gym will continue its “Safe With Us” policy and ensure all current government guidance on health and safety measures are followed. This includes regular cleaning of gym and studio spaces, hygiene stations for members to wipe down benches and equipment, and hand sanitiser throughout the training space.

Residents interested in boosting their health and fitness can also take up an introductory membership offer of £9.99 a month for the first six months and no joining fee. The offer is available at The Gym Group website until 30 December.

The Gym Oxford Headington is one of five gyms opened nationwide by the business on the same day, including Bury St Edmunds, Barrow-in-Furness, Glasgow Forge and London Staples Corner.

The Gym Group was founded in 2008 and listed on the stock exchange in 2015.
