Following much anticipation, the new David Lloyd Health and Wellness Club in Bicester is now open. The new luxury club, located within the new Catalyst Park in South Bicester, officially opened its doors to members on Tuesday, 20 September.

The facilities include an expansive, light-filled gym with the latest and most advanced equipment to help members challenge their personal best and achieve their fitness goals, championship quality tennis and padel (the hottest new trend in racquet sports) courts.

The centre also features indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, a mind and body studio, a spa with Himalayan salt sauna, a steam room and ice experience room, a deep relax space with heated beds, an outdoor spa garden with lounge beds, relaxation zones, hydro pools and saunas, and a large club room with zoned dining, work and dedicated family areas for little ones.

Jack Phillips, Club Manager, said: “We are so excited to be here in Bicester and be part of the local community. David Lloyd Clubs’ passion is centred on providing members with the perfect place to relax, socialise and work out with friends, family and fellow members and maintain optimum physical and mental health and wellness.

“Our extensive range of activities on offer for members means that every day will be different. Our dedicated and experienced team are on hand to offer fitness and wellbeing advice to support our members at every stage of their wellness journey. We’ll also be offering social events at the club, such as chess clubs and book clubs, so watch this space.”

Classes at the club are designed for a range of fitness levels, from full body high intensity (HIIT) workouts in David Lloyd Clubs’ exclusive Signature class collection, including BLAZE and IGN1TE. BLAZE is a full body workout which combines cardiovascular training with strength, boxing and martial arts skills to give a unique HIIT session. IGN1TE is a choreographed cardio-based workout. Each class is designed to test the whole body as you kick, punch, jump, run and push yourself to the limit.

CYCLONE is David Lloyd Clubs’ exclusive group cycling class that focuses on improving performance, fitness, strength and speed using cutting-edge technology for modern classes that boost members’ cycling performance. Members will be pushed to work to their maximum level, motivated by expert instructors and seeing their performance stats as they ride.

Battlebox is a fun, outdoor-based fitness zone to work out in the fresh, open air. It offers endorphin-boosting training for participants of all abilities and levels of fitness, led in group sessions by expert instructors that will guide and push you to get the most out of your class experience.

Combining full body fitness training, high-energy challenges and teamwork, a 45 or 55 minutes Battlebox class will challenge you physically and mentally whilst providing a unique alternative to your usual routine. What’s more, there is even the opportunity to get the whole family involved with classes designed for the over 8’s to join in and get active whilst having lots of fun.

Mind, Body & Spirit

SPIRIT is David Lloyd Clubs Signature mind and body class that offers a holistic approach to increase flexibility, calm the mind and develop a strong and stable core. The class combines elements of yoga, Pilates and sound meditation that will be available to Bicester members.

Family Fun

David Lloyd Clubs is renowned for providing the gold standard in kids’ clubs and activities. The David Lloyd Kids team at Bicester will be on hand to entertain its youngest members with dedicated activity rooms and a swimming pool just for them, and plenty of organised activities, such as Scooter Squad, that are guaranteed to keep them active, engaged and entertained, while parents can take some time out to exercise, socialise, work or relax.

Jack concludes, “We’ve had such a positive reaction from our new members who are thrilled with the stunning facilities at the club and wide variety of activities on offer for all ages. David Lloyd Clubs is so much more than a gym, it’s a social and wellbeing space to meet, work out and enjoy life, and we look forward to welcoming more new members to the David Lloyd Bicester family.”
