Staff of voco Oxford Thames and voco Oxford Spires took on a series of community and fundraising initiatives over the last month as part of IHG’s ‘Giving for Good’ programme, which runs throughout September and sees team members from across the world give back to their local communities.
Teams from both hotels joined forces to pick up litter, gathering four large bags of rubbish from the surrounding areas of the hotels. The team also undertook gardening duties, tidying up flower beds and planting, at Sobell House, which provides palliative and end-of-life care to people in Oxfordshire.

Members of staff at the two Oxford voco hotels also took on an 8-mile charity run in and around Oxford to raise money for Action Against Hunger, an international charity committed to saving the lives of malnourished children and supporting their families to beat hunger.
Wendy Procter, Cluster General Manager of both Oxford voco hotels, said: “Since the Giving For Good programme launched in 2018, IHG colleagues have performed nearly 350,000 acts of kindness, making a meaningful impact in communities worldwide. Now in its sixth year, this initiative harnesses our global reach to inspire positive change and create a lasting difference.”
