
voco Oxford Thames hotel has reported a significant rise in dog-friendly stays, with Easter weekend marking a record period for four-legged guests enjoying its popular “Pooch Package”.
The Oxford hotel experienced its busiest period to date for canine visitors, reflecting a wider trend of increasing staycation demand and seasonal travel.
Warmer weather and longer daylight hours have contributed to the surge, with April through to August expected to remain particularly busy for dog-owning families.
During the Easter weekend alone, the hotel recorded a 50 per cent increase in dog stays. More than 20 dogs were welcomed across the weekend, making full use of the hotel’s extensive grounds, riverside location and outdoor spaces, which created a relaxed, pet-friendly atmosphere.

Set within 30 acres of parkland on the banks of the River Thames, voco Oxford Thames continues to attract visitors seeking countryside escapes close to the city. Its location also offers convenient access to destinations across the southern Cotswolds, making it a popular base for leisure travel.
The hotel has also reported a growing trend of guests including their dogs in special occasions, particularly weddings. Canine companions are increasingly becoming part of celebrations, adding a personal element to events hosted at the venue.
Visitors are also taking advantage of nearby attractions, including Bicester Village for shopping, as well as Blenheim Palace and the historic town of Woodstock, which offer a range of cultural and heritage experiences.
