Oxford Living Wage to rise to £14.68 an hour in 2027

Oxford City Council has announced that the Oxford Living Wage will increase to £14.68 an hour from 06 April 2027, a rise of 4.4%. Accredited employers will be expected to adopt the new rate by that date.

Launched in 2018, the voluntary scheme aims to help workers meet Oxford’s relatively high living costs. The rate is set at 95% of the London Living Wage, calculated by the Living Wage Foundation using its updated methodology for assessing living costs and household poverty.

The council has also reported continued growth in the scheme, with 210 accredited employers now signed up — the highest number since its launch. It is encouraging more organisations to adopt the rate as part of efforts to improve pay across the city.
