About Carrdus School
Carrdus School was a co-educational independent preparatory school for children aged 3 to 11, set in a welcoming countryside environment in Overthorpe, near Banbury.
The school was known for its nurturing approach to early education, combining strong academic foundations with a broad creative and pastoral programme designed to build confidence, curiosity and independence.
With small class sizes and a strong focus on individual attention, Carrdus provided a supportive learning environment where pupils were encouraged to develop at their own pace.
The school placed emphasis on outdoor learning, creativity, and developing key skills that prepared children for entry into leading senior schools.
Set within attractive grounds, Carrdus offered a traditional yet forward-thinking prep school experience, with a strong sense of community at its core.
The school officially closed in July 2025 following a decision that was announced in December 2024.
