About St John’s Priory School

St John’s Priory school situated in Banbury, Oxfordshire, is a co-educational day preparatory school for children from 3 to 11 years. The school, which was founded in 1847, occupies a Grade II listed building which was once a priory. The school is non-denominational and welcomes pupils from a range of religious backgrounds. The school is a limited company and governance of the school is provided by the two proprietors who took on these roles in September 2011.

At St John’s Priory we offer a vibrant all round education; providing the best possible opportunities for our children to grow and fulfil their natural potential. A ‘family first’ approach ensures a nurturing environment and offers flexible before and after school provision. The small class sizes enable the children to develop into adventurous, confident and engaging learners and our teachers, to tailor the curriculum to the individual needs of each child. Specialist teaching is an asset of the school enabling us to achieve academic excellence. Strong links with nearby independent schools afford us regular access to fantastic sporting facilities.

The only way to truly understand the atmosphere of the school is to visit usit. You will most likely find pupils absorbed in activity on the academic, sporting, musical, theatrical and artistic fronts and will see for yourself the Priory welcome that the children and staff so generously extend to visitors.
