About Loose Cannon Brewery

Tucked away on Suffolk Way in Abingdon, Loose Cannon Brewery has become one of Oxfordshire’s best-known independent breweries, championing locally crafted beer with plenty of character and a strong sense of place.

Founded in 2010 to help revive brewing in the town following the closure of Morland Brewery, the brewery has grown into a respected name on the county’s craft beer scene, supplying pubs, bars and retailers across the region while remaining proudly rooted in Abingdon.

Inside the brewery, traditional brewing methods sit comfortably alongside more modern craft influences, producing everything from crisp pilsners and easy-drinking session ales to rich porters and bold seasonal releases. Signature beers such as Abingdon Bridge, 42 Pounder and Recoil Pilsner have helped build a loyal following among Oxfordshire beer enthusiasts, while the military-inspired branding gives the brewery a distinctive identity.

Visitors can also experience the brewery first-hand at its taproom and shop, where freshly poured draught beer, cans and bottles are available alongside regular events and open evenings. Relaxed and community-focused, it offers a welcoming introduction to one of the county’s most established independent breweries.

Drink

Loose Cannon’s core range includes pale ales, IPAs, pilsners, stouts and traditional bitters, with rotating seasonal specials appearing throughout the year. Brewery fresh pours are available in the taproom, alongside takeaway cans and bottled beers.
