About Rose Hill Community Centre

Introduction

Rose Hill Community Centre is a fully accessible community centre that brings together a brand new state-of-the-art gym, meeting and conference facilities, social club, advice centre, youth suite, health hub and changing facilities.

The building has fully equipped, air-conditioned, flexible rooms and spaces perfect for meetings, conferences, classes, examinations, rehearsals and parties.

Access to the building is at ground level and fully accessible for all. It has two disabled toilets, a shower facility on the ground floor, and a lift up to the first floor, which also has a disabled toilet. There are two baby-changing facilities, and breastfeeding is welcome throughout the building.

The venue is owned and managed by Oxford City Council.

Gym

The centre has a state-of-the-art air-conditioned gym with over 20 workout stations featuring the latest equipment. There’s no joining fee or contract fee. Gym opening hours are as follows:

  • Monday from 7.30am to 8.00pm. The gym is closed from noon to 1.00pm. The junior gym is open from 3.30 to 5.00.
  • Tuesday – 7.30am to 8.00pm
  • Wednesday – 7.30am to 9.00pm. The junior gym is open from 3.30 to 5.00.
  • Thursday – 7.30am to 8.00pm
  • Friday – 7.30am to 7.00pm. Ladies only session from 11.00.00 to noon.
  • Saturday – 9.00am to 7.00pm. The junior gym is open from 3.30 to 5.00.
  • Sunday – 9.00am to 4.00pm

Room hire

Rose Hill Community Centre has a variety of spaces suitable for events, including meetings, conferences, classes, examinations, rehearsals and parties.

 

Bill Buckingham Ballroom
This is the largest space in the centre and is ideal for parties, workshops and seminars. This room has convenient access to a kitchen and bar – either can be booked together or separately if required. This room can hold up to 200 people standing, 120 seated around tables, and 150 seated without tables.

Aaron Buron Youth Room
This colourful room overlooks the park and has sprung flooring, ideal for any physical activity. Adjacent to this room is a kitchen and office room, which can be hired too. This room can hold up to 50 people.

Norman Brown 1
This multi-purpose room can be used for smaller events, meetings and breakout rooms. Like most rooms in the centre, it has access to a kitchen. This room can hold up to 40 people. This room can be coupled with Norman Brown 2 for a larger party.

 

Norman Brown 2
This room can be used as a breakout room, meeting room or for smaller events with a capacity for up to 30 people. The room can be combined with Norman Brown 1 to increase the capacity by removing the partition. The accessible kitchen can also be hired.

The centre is located on Carole’s Way, Rose Hill, Oxford, OX4 4HF. There are car parking spaces, cycle parking and two electric car charging points available to use. You can find a suggested cycle route to Rose Hill Community Centre on the CycleStreets website. Alternatively, you can reach the centre via the number 3 bus.
