The Oxfordshire Shooting School is set in the heart of the Cotswold countryside and offers some of the most comprehensive shooting facilities in the country. They can cater for all different abilities, from complete beginners to experienced shots.
They can also provide bespoke corporate / group entertainment packages to suit every occasion. Their cosy shooting lodge is the ideal place to take a break, and enjoy a freshly brewed coffee and bacon roll in a relaxed atmosphere.
Providing you have a valid shotgun certificate you are very welcome to shoot around the ground unaccompanied, using their ‘Promatic Claymate’ system to shoot each stand in your own way, and at your own pace.
The ‘Claymate’ system automatically records the clays used during your session via a key card, which can be read at every stand on the Claymate box and also in the lodge when you have finished shooting. As a shotgun certificate holder, you may bring two non-license holder guests to shoot under your supervision.
Having a gun that fits you properly is essential to achieve consistently good shooting. It has a huge impact on your comfort and confidence whilst shooting and can improve your score by as much as 30%.
Experienced instructors will take detailed measurements using traditional fitting techniques such as pattern plates and try guns. The team of highly skilled gunmakers can then carry out the necessary alterations to attain the perfect fit.
The Oxfordshire Shooting School are one of the few shooting grounds in the country to offer regular gun fitting sessions. In some cases alterations can be carried out whilst you wait, allowing you to prove the theory with a satisfying round of post adjustment clays.
The Oxfordshire Shooting School offer adult and junior memberships which will entitle you to a range of discounts and exclusive benefits.
Your membership will also be valid at Francis Lovel & Co, a gun shop based on the outskirts of Witney, and at Atkin Grant & Lang, their sister shooting ground located in Hertfordshire.
