A new health and wellbeing destination at Milton Park has officially celebrated its launch, marking another milestone in the continued growth of Signal Yard as the innovation campus’s social and retail hub.

Flex Health Hub hosted its official launch event earlier this month at Signal Yard, welcoming occupiers, guests and members of the local community following the facility’s opening earlier this year.

The new centre brings together clinically-led health, fitness and lifestyle services under one roof, offering physiotherapy, rehabilitation, acupuncture, counselling, nutrition advice and mindfulness support alongside programmes focused on mobility, sports performance, arthritis management and long-term wellbeing.

Founded by chartered physiotherapist Tom Jacobs, the business evolved from Flex Physio after he left the NHS in 2016 with a vision to create a more holistic approach to health and wellbeing. Despite launching during the Covid-19 pandemic, the business has continued to expand its services across Oxfordshire.

The facility employs eight physiotherapists and three massage therapists, while also collaborating with specialists including nutritionists, acupuncturists, orthotists and steroid injection experts.

Visitors can access a range of expert-led fitness classes, including reformer Pilates, yoga, circuits and kickboxing, alongside dedicated treatment rooms, gym and studio spaces designed to support recovery, performance and wellbeing.

During the launch event, attendees heard from patients who shared personal stories about how the support provided by Flex Health Hub had positively impacted their quality of life.

Dr Fiona Garrett Ryan also spoke about the role medical acupuncture can play in supporting areas including anxiety, sleep, chronic fatigue, IBS, fertility and menopause.

Meanwhile, Dr Kerry Swanton discussed the importance of sustainable behaviour change and developing healthier routines to help people manage the pressures of modern working life.

Tom Jacobs said: “We’re incredibly excited to officially celebrate the launch of Flex Health Hub at Signal Yard and be part of Milton Park’s community.

“From the beginning, our vision was to create a welcoming environment that goes beyond traditional physiotherapy or fitness, bringing together clinical expertise, wellbeing and lifestyle support in one place.

“Hearing patient stories at the event was incredibly powerful and a reminder of the real impact that rehabilitation, movement and wellbeing support can have on people’s lives.”

Clare Fleet said the addition of Flex Health Hub supported Milton Park’s wider vision of improving wellbeing services and amenities for occupiers and the local community.

She said: “Creating a strong wellbeing and retail offer is a hugely important part of Milton Park’s long-term vision and Flex Health Hub has already become a fantastic addition to Signal Yard.

“As Milton Park continues to grow, it’s vital that we continue investing in the experiences, services and wellbeing facilities that support people day-to-day.”

Flex Health Hub is open Monday to Friday from 8am until 8pm and has also launched a programme of free wellbeing events for occupiers and the wider community, including lunchtime circuit sessions, a runners’ workshop and the weekly “Milton Mosey” walking group.

Signal Yard continues to expand as Milton Park’s new social and retail destination, with businesses already open including Bros Barbers, Damira Dental Studios and Milton Post Office.

Upcoming openings include Apollo Pharmacy, 1885 Burgers, Planted Plates, Chor Muang Thai and Tap Social Day Release.
