Coffee#1 has officially opened its newest coffee shop in Botley, bringing its signature blend of artisan coffee and relaxed café culture to the redeveloped West Way Square.
Located near Tesco and beneath the new apartments at West Way Square, the new café will be run by a dedicated team of up to seven employees and marks another milestone in the company’s continued expansion across the UK.
Founded in 2001, Coffee#1 has built a strong presence across South Wales, the South West, the South Coast and the Midlands, with a focus on becoming “locally loved” in the communities it serves.
The independent coffee house chain, now part of The Caffè Nero Group, currently operates 133 stores.
The new Botley café has been designed to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, featuring a living room-style interior complete with bookshelves and artwork inspired by local history, folklore and notable figures from the area.
Sean Kennedy-Lockwood, Area Manager at Coffee#1, said:
“We’re thrilled to be opening our next location in Botley in a lively new neighbourhood. We’re confident Coffee#1 will fit right in.
“We take pride in providing a cosy space where customers can relax, enjoy delicious food, tempting cakes, and, of course, great coffee.”
He added that the store had been designed as a flexible social space for customers looking to meet friends, work remotely or simply unwind with a book.
Store Manager Nick Price said the team was looking forward to becoming part of the local community.
“My team and I are excited to become part of the Botley community and to serve our new neighbours,” he said.
“Local community groups are encouraged to host regular catch-ups in the store, and dogs are welcome too.”

The new café is located at Unit 1, 4 West Way Square, Botley, Oxford, OX2 9TE. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 8.00am to 6.00pm and Sundays from 9.00am to 5.00pm. It offers seating for 61 customers indoors and 36 outside.
