Passengers using Pulhams services will soon benefit from faster and simpler journeys as the bus operator introduces a new tap-on, tap-off contactless payment system.
The new Freeflow technology will launch across most of the Pulhams network on Sunday 26 July, allowing passengers to tap their contactless bank card, Apple Pay or Google Pay when boarding and tap off again when leaving the bus.
The system automatically calculates the correct fare based on the distance travelled, removing the need for passengers to choose a ticket type before travelling or worry about paying the wrong amount.

Freeflow also includes daily and weekly fare capping, meaning passengers will automatically pay no more than the best available fare for their journeys.
The technology has been developed in partnership with Ticketer, with hardware investment supported by Gloucestershire County Council through its Bus Service Improvement Plan funding.
The rollout follows the successful introduction of Freeflow across sister operators Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel, both part of the wider Go Thames Valley group.

Luke Marion, Managing Director of Pulhams, said the introduction marked another step in the operator’s investment in modern ticketing technology.
“We continue to embrace technology and ensure our services are fully accessible.
“The introduction of Freeflow at Pulhams bolsters our vision to enhance the customer journey, with an eye on bringing in multi-ticketing functions at a later date.
“With Freeflow, passengers simply tap on and tap off, and the system calculates the best possible fare for their journey.
“It removes the need to carry the right money or choose the correct ticket, and it helps speed up boarding, so journeys are faster and more convenient.”
The new system is expected to make boarding quicker while improving accessibility for passengers who prefer cashless payment options.
Councillor Roger Whyborn, Gloucestershire County Council’s cabinet member for sustainable transport, said the technology would help make bus travel easier and more attractive.
“We want to make using the bus as simple and convenient as possible, and this new tap on, tap off system is a great example of how technology can improve the passenger experience,” he said.
Freeflow will be available on all standard Pulhams services, although some specialist routes will continue using existing ticketing arrangements. These include The Robin, Cirencester College services and Football Special services to the Kassam Stadium.
The introduction forms part of Pulhams’ wider programme to modernise its ticketing offer and improve the passenger experience across its network.
