Legal practice Lawbox has established a new headquarters at Spires House, on Oxford’s ARC innovation campus, as the business invests in its growing team and the use of technology to develop its services.

The move provides a central base for the firm’s UK-wide team, which has also been strengthened by the appointment of Nora Elnemr as Lawtech Engineer. The role reflects the company’s increasing focus on using technology to improve the delivery and efficiency of legal services.

Founded in 2017 by Natalie and Jamie Murray, Lawbox provides corporate and commercial legal support to businesses at different stages of their development, from start-ups and scale-ups to established companies. Its services cover areas including business structures, commercial contracts, compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and preparation for exit.

The company has operated with a largely remote working model, allowing it to build a team distributed across the UK. The new Oxford office is intended to provide a shared space for colleagues while retaining the flexibility of that approach.

Natalie Murray, co-founder of Lawbox, said the move represented a strategic investment in the business’s future.

“Our remote model has worked well for our UK-wide team, but creating a central hub enables people to come together while maintaining the flexibility that we value. The ARC innovation district is a natural fit for Lawbox as it’s full of ambitious, innovative, growing businesses that are making an impact.

“Aligned to this, the deepening of our use of modern technology will enable us to deliver great value and access to support for clients.”

Lawbox marked the opening with an office-warming event attended by clients, partners and local businesses. The event included a talk from Andrew Luers, founder and chief executive of Habitat Energy, who discussed how he had scaled the business internationally using AI-driven clean energy trading.

Lawbox describes its approach as making legal support an integral part of running a business, helping clients address legal issues before they become wider commercial problems. Its ambition is to make access to trusted legal advice a more established part of business growth across the UK.

The new headquarters places the company within Oxford’s ARC innovation community, which brings together businesses working across science, technology and innovation.
