About Five Little Pigs, Wallingford
Five Little Pigs is a charming little neighbourhood bar and restaurant in Wallingford that delights in serving people thoughtful, seasonal and locally sourced food and drink.
What you might not know is how it came about.
Two of the three founding piggies own and run The Keep, Wallingford’s much-loved gin and craft beer bar, which opened its doors in 2016. A pandemic has since seen Rob and Sam transform it (albeit temporarily) into the most exciting off-licence you could hope to find yourself at, still specialising in the best local, original, and spectacular beer, wine and spirits.
As fate would have it, new Wallingford resident and local restaurateur Aimee had found her way there before it closed its doors to enthusiastic gin drinkers. A friendship blossomed, and a dream was born… after a (frankly, astoundingly) successful crowdfunding campaign, a sizeable renovation project, and a few inevitable hurdles, Five Little Pigs opened to ply you with food and drink.
Why call it Five Little Pigs, you ask? The name is partly taken from a Victorian nursery rhyme and an Agatha Christie novel. Agatha Christie was a long-time resident of Wallingford, living at nearby Winterbrook House, and the founders are very proud of their town’s history and heritage. They also just liked the way it sounded!
