This 16th-century timbered inn, complete with inglenook fireplaces, reclaimed wooden floors, and a large central bar, has become the latest in Sam and Georgie Pearman’s new Country Creatures collection of delightful and stylish rural establishments.
In 2015 Charlie and Willow Crossley set out to create a pub with a true home away from home feeling – a place where people could come and relax in a homely setting with all the luxury and comfort of a hotel. They decided to put local, delicious food on the menu, and the very creative Willow set about to design eight restful bedrooms. The result was the fantastic Bull Inn in Charlbury.
So successful was this mixture of comfort and good food, within a fun yet elegant setting, that they decided to take on The Swan at Ascott. They have lovingly restored this 16th-century pub back to its former glory – staying true to their original promise of creating a home away from home experience.
The Swan Inn in Ascott-under-Wychwood is a historic building that has been loved back to life. You will not only find Willow’s signature style of relaxed yet elegant spaces, but you will also be served lovingly prepared food in a comfy and relaxed setting.
At The Swan Inn, they seek out the very best suppliers who they love to work with. Often they’ve worked with them for years, but some are new. The rule is that they try to find the best. The menus change with the seasons, and they offer daily specials.
The Swan Inn is part of Country Creatures – a small family of restaurants, inns and hotels in the Oxfordshire Cotwolds – alongside The Double Red Duke in Clanfield and The Chequers Inn in Churchill near Chipping Norton.
