Oxford’s spookiest seasonal tradition is back as the Oxford Ghost Tour returns for its fifth year this Halloween, offering three nights of frightful fun.
Operated by City Sightseeing Oxford, part of the Oxford Bus Company, the interactive walking tour promises chills, thrills, and laughter as professional actors bring the city’s haunted history to life.
Across 31 October, 01 & 02 November, participants will embark on a 75-minute guided walk through Oxford’s most atmospheric streets, led by a costumed Civil War soldier.

The experience includes hair-raising tales of the real meaning behind Dead Man’s Walk, the spectral monk of Wadham College, and a chilling discovery in the coal cellar of Exeter College.
As the group explores some of Oxford’s most iconic landmarks and eerie alleys, visitors can expect storytelling that blends history, humour, and spine-tingling horror.
Tours begin at 5.30pm from City Sightseeing’s visitor information point on High Street and conclude on Broad Street.
Clarisse Garcia, Retail and Tourism Manager at City Sightseeing Oxford, said:
“We can’t wait to welcome back locals and tourists alike to our popular Ghost Tours. You may think you know Oxford well enough, but our tours will open your eyes to some of the murkier corners of the city. Our tour guide will share terrifying stories of hauntings and executions, and you might even see some ghosts too.”
Garcia added that while designed to inject some Halloween horror, the tours remain family-friendly and suitable for children seeking frightening fun.
Luke Marion, Managing Director of Oxford Bus Company, said:
“The Oxford Ghost Tour continues to go from strength to strength, leaving people entertained and spooked in equal measure. Halloween offers the perfect opportunity to learn more about Oxford’s grizzly past and experience a different side to the city we think we know so well.”
Tickets are priced at £19.00 for adults, £17.00 for seniors and students, £13.00 for children, and £47.50 for families. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
