Two award-winning multidisciplinary architecture, planning and urban design Practices – West Waddy ADP and Archadia Architects – have merged to form a new Practice, WWA.

The merger represents the next step in the evolution of the two organisations, which first formed an association in 2014. Since then, they have operated as sister Practices, sharing information and resource and supporting one another’s core specialisms, including heritage, conservation and specialist housing provision.

Through its multidisciplinary group of experienced architects, planners, and urban designers, WWA is a leader in the built environment, creating outstanding spaces and places for their clients.

WWA will continue to deliver high-quality and innovative solutions to client briefs, incorporating sustainable design principles including Passive House across an array of sectors, including residential developments, educational campuses, master planning and urban design.

Philip Waddy, Managing Director at WWA, said: “The coming together of our teams under one unified brand is a hugely exciting time. Over the last seven years, we have developed a strong and cohesive working relationship with our colleagues in London, and by streamlining our processes and bringing everyone under one identity, we will be able to drive greater efficiencies, supporting the business and aspirations of our clients.

“This is the latest step in the evolutionary journey of our Practices and puts us in an ideal position to emerge from Covid-19 ready to meet future demands.”

The company will continue to operate from its offices in Abingdon, Oxford and Hampton in London.

While the name and identity – which is reflected across the Practice’s revised website, collateral and social channels – may be new, it was essential for the directors of the Practices that they retained and enhanced their core values.

Philip Waddy added: “The association of the two Practices was predominantly formed on our shared values of socially and environmentally aware design, caring for our heritage and ensuring responsive, reliable and results orientated services for our clients.

“The quality of the team we have is exceptional, their expertise is second to none, and our clients will undoubtedly benefit from our specialists working under one brand. We are very much looking forward to continuing to deliver for our clients, providing them a high-quality multidisciplinary design and planning service”.
