Adventure lovers are being invited to experience a night of high-altitude drama and extreme exploration as the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour is bringing a night of action-packed adventure films to the Amey Theatre, Abingdon, on 05 March and 30 April.
Bringing two brand-new collections of inspirational short films, the tour promises an adrenaline-fuelled evening featuring extreme climbing, whitewater kayaking, mountain biking and remarkable journeys from some of the most remote corners of the planet.
“Immerse yourself in a night of gripping adventure – up on the big screen!” says tour director Nell Teasdale.
“The Banff Mountain Film Festival showcases the year’s most inspiring stories of adventure, with cutting-edge expeditions, extraordinary human resilience and the enduring magic of wild places.”
Each screening will be introduced by a compère, with audiences also in with a chance of winning outdoor-themed prizes supplied by the tour’s partners.
The films are selected from hundreds of entries submitted to the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival, held every November in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The festival celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2025. The UK and Ireland tour, now in its 17th year, will visit more than 50 locations across spring and autumn 2026.
“Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or simply love great storytelling, this year’s films offer something for everyone,” adds Nell.
