A line-up of some of the UK’s best-known comedians will take to the stage at New Theatre Oxford this September in support of Oxfordshire hospice-at-home charity Lawrence Nurses.
Taking place on Wednesday 09 September 2026, Stand Up! A Night of Laughs for Lawrence Nurses will bring together five established performers for what promises to be an evening of comedy while raising vital funds for local end-of-life care services.
Headlining the event are Sara Pascoe, Rory Bremner, Arthur Smith, Debra Stephenson and Nabil Abdulrashid, whose television and live performances have made them familiar names with audiences across the UK.
The charity says every ticket sold will directly support its work providing free hospice-at-home nursing, respite care and bereavement support for people with life-limiting illnesses across North and West Oxfordshire.
Lawrence Nurses enables patients to remain in the comfort of their own homes, surrounded by family and loved ones, while receiving specialist palliative and end-of-life care from its dedicated nursing team.
The comedy fundraiser is the charity’s flagship fundraising event for 2026 and aims to raise awareness as well as essential income to help meet growing demand for its services.
Audiences can expect a varied evening of stand-up and impressions, from Sara Pascoe’s intelligent observational comedy and Rory Bremner’s acclaimed political satire to Arthur Smith’s distinctive storytelling, Debra Stephenson’s celebrated impressions and the energetic performances of Britain’s Got Talent finalist Nabil Abdulrashid.
The evening has been made possible with support from sponsors Nellie + Dove, Richard Spencer Builders, Wise Investment and Wheelers of Chipping Norton.
As demand for hospice care delivered at home continues to grow, fundraising events such as this help Lawrence Nurses continue offering its services free of charge to patients and their families across the county.
Tickets are now on sale for the performance at New Theatre Oxford on Wednesday 09 September.
