Organisers of Oxfordshire’s much loved Cornbury Festival 2021 have confirmed that they will go ahead as a socially distanced festival from 09 to 11 July 2021. The festival plans to adhere to all government guidelines to make the outdoor, summer event a COVID safe one.
Measure to be implemented will include one way systems, seated audience viewing, masks, extra cleaning and hand sanitising stations, additional boutique dining and waiter(ess) service at bars and food concessions. Along with clean camping and pre-booked camping plots within 2-metre spacing.
Festival organiser Hugh Phillimore was keen to highlight that as a festival whose clientele are used to a certain level of comfort like “posh loos as standard, arena seating, and fine dining, some of the additional COVID measure, will not be too different from what is available in their VIP offering. Hugh said, “If any festival can cope with social distancing and safety restrictions Cornbury can, we are a very civilised event!”
The line up is expected to remain much the same as originally intended for 2020. However, a regular favourite at the festival Bryan Adams has been confirmed as the Friday Night Headliner. Hugh said, “Bryan was a triumph back at our ‘finale’ in 2017 so we’re completely over the moon that he’s decided to return to Cornbury”.
The rest of the Cornbury Festival 2021 line-up will be announced early in the New Year.
Cornbury Music Festival runs from 09 to 11 July 2021 at Great Tew Park, near Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire.
