Veterans, serving UK military personnel and cadets will be able to travel free on participating bus services across Oxford and the Thames Valley on Remembrance Sunday, 08 November.
The offer, announced by Go Thames Valley, covers services operated by Oxford Bus Company, Thames Travel, Carousel Buses and Pulhams. Eligible passengers will need to show evidence of their military service, such as service identification, a veterans badge or service medals. Those wearing military uniform, including cadets, will also qualify.

The offer applies to local bus services but excludes City Sightseeing Oxford and the airline coach services connecting Oxford with Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
Go Thames Valley has also invited bus drivers to pull into the nearest bus stop at 11.00am on Remembrance Sunday to observe the two-minute silence commemorating those who have died in military conflicts.
Luke Marion, managing director of Go Thames Valley, said the initiative was a way for the company to recognise the sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces. He added that veterans work across the business and that the company serves communities with military bases.

Remembrance Sunday is observed on the second Sunday of November each year. Services and commemorations take place across Oxfordshire and the wider Thames Valley, including parades and ceremonies that may affect local bus routes.
Passengers should allow extra time for their journeys, as diversions and delays are expected on some services because of events taking place in towns and villages across the network.
Go Thames Valley operates Oxford Bus Company, Thames Travel, Carousel Buses, Pearces and Pulhams, alongside City Sightseeing Oxford and its airport coach services.
