Midge Ure will bring his visionary A Man Of Two Worlds Tour to Oxford this spring as part of a major UK tour supporting his brand new studio album.
The acclaimed musician will perform at the New Theatre Oxford on 14 May 2026, one of the key dates in a nationwide run of concerts spanning May, June and additional shows in November.
The tour coincides with the release of Ure’s new album, A Man Of Two Worlds, which arrives on 08 May 2026, the opening night of the tour. It will be his first collection of new material in 12 years.
Rather than presenting a traditional greatest-hits show, Ure has designed the tour as a continuous and immersive concert experience, blending classic songs with cinematic instrumental pieces to create a seamless musical journey.
Ure explained:
“Almost every album I’ve made over the past 40+ years has featured at least one instrumental track. For this album I wanted to explore that further, showing two sides of what I do.
“The Man Of Two Worlds Tour reflects this idea, combining instrumentals I’ve written over the years with songs, album tracks and fan favourites side by side, taking the audience on a journey.”
The album itself reflects the concept of the tour, split into two halves – eight instrumental tracks and eight vocal songs – highlighting the different sides of Ure’s songwriting.
Across a career spanning more than four decades, Ure has been a defining figure in modern pop and rock. From early success with Slik and The Rich Kids to shaping the sound of the 1980s with Ultravox and Visage, his influence on popular music has been far-reaching.
He also co-wrote and produced the charity single Do They Know It’s Christmas? and helped organise the landmark Live Aid.
With Ivor Novello, Grammy and BASCAP awards and a catalogue of gold and platinum records, the upcoming tour promises both a celebration of his legacy and a showcase for new creative work.
